Silly Blogger, Articles Are For Free!

by Sean Smith on December 1, 2009

Have you ever wondered what the most successful online personalities and gurus do to generate higher rankings in the search engines and large amounts of traffic to their website?  Well, I’m going to let you in on a little known secret you can add to your internet marketing arsenal that will help you drive traffic to your website as well as provide many other benefits you may not be aware of for free, they write articles!

That’s right, article writing is a free and easy way to generate traffic to your website or blog.  You can write an article about any topic which potential readers may find interesting or that may provide an answer or solution to a particular problem others face.  The key to article writing is to provide value to your readers.  Keep the article brief and to the point but tell the story in your own words and allow readers to see your personality in the article.  For example, if  your in the business of scrapbooking, you could write an article about how to preserve old photographs.  Or if your in the energy business, an article on how to become more energy efficient would be valuable to those seeking to learn more about going green.

Some benefits of writing articles are:

  • Articles are indexed by search engines.
  • Articles create inbound links to your blog or website. (Search engines love this)
  • Articles promote you as an expert and establish credibility.

Many of the blog posts I write, I also post to free article submission websites.  This helps to ensure the widest reach possible for the blog post and drives traffic back to the post on my blog itself.  Once you’ve written your article and are satisfied with it, you’ll want to submit it to an article posting website as well as post it to your blog if you have one.  Make sure to place a link in the article back to your website or the actual post on your blog where the article originated.  This will help to create inbound links to your website or blog thus increasing your search engine ranking.

Here are a few free article submission websites to submit your article to:

Always remember, when writing your article make sure it relates to an interest and/or issue your reader can identify with and then provide the reader with a potential solution or alternative outlook.  This will ensure you provide value to your readers and leave them wanting more!

To Your Success!
